About

The Canterbury Tales will take part in Museums at Night for the first time on Friday 19 May, presenting The Campfire Tales, a FREE event for all ages. Due to take place from 8.30pm, the evening will see guests gathered around the campfire in the churchyard garden, regaled by The Tales of Beedle the Bard delivered by a medieval character guide. J.K. Rowling credits Chaucer’s The Pardoner’s Tale as the inspiration for The Tale of the Three Brothers which features in The Tales of Beedle the Bard and also plays a key role in the final book of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. The Museums at Night festival offers the chance to engage with history and culture in a unique and exciting way. During the festival, hundreds of museums, galleries and historic spaces all over the UK will open their doors after dark to put on an impressive and diverse array of special night-time events.
