Vaults Cardiff

The Vaults is a unique concept in the UK’s nightlife scene. Situated underneath Portland House, a Grade II* listed building, the nightclub comprises of two rooms which were formally used as bank vaults for the businesses above. These two rooms are fully underground, with 6ft thick concrete walls, and still retain the original vault doors, money cages, and floor to ceiling metal bars which gives the club a post-industrial, almost menacing feel. As a foil to this, the banking hall above which is host to a bar area and chill out space, boasts high vaulted ceilings, wood block floors, marble staircases, and floor to ceiling sculptured pillars which gives the entire venue a sense of extravagance and grandiose. Add to this a state of the art Void sound system. A full custom designed intelligent lighting installation, and a management team who are looking to grow something both musically and culturally significant, and you have a recipe for one of the finest spaces for underground music anywhere in the United Kingdom.
