About Borderlands

The first ever Borderlands Festival was a feast of musical talent from across the ages, with legendary headliners Happy Mondays and Friendly Fires alongside a whole host of DJ talent: KiNK, Nightmares on Wax, Patrick Topping, Eats Everything and Sarah Story.

The very first major music festival to be hosted in Carlisle Castle. Just imagine partying in that courtyard, surrounded by the battlements that incarcerated Mary Queen of Scots and survived multiple raids from the Scots and Border Reivers. 

Borderlands was set up with a clear vision to showcase the many great things the region has to offer; from landmarks to local talent. Local heroes Novablood, Delagrave and Uber’s Ki Creighton also performed, complemented by a range of artisan food & drink outlets from Cumbria and the surrounding area.

Borderlands Festival is in Carlisle Castle, Castle Way, Carlisle, CA3 8RN.

Borderlands Festival is a music and arts festival launching this September within the walls of the historic Carlisle Castle. 

Yes, Borderlands Festival is an over 18’s event. They operate a challenge 25 system so please bring a valid form of photo I.D with you, they accept a valid passport or drivers/provisional drivers’ licence.

You can contact the event organiser via info@borderlandsfestival.co.uk.

No pass outs are allowed at Borderlands. Anyone choosing to leave the festival cannot regain entry.

 

The Borderlands Festival entrance and exit are via the main castle gate on Castle Way.

You cannot bring your own food or drink into Borderlands Festival. They will have a full bar service available and local food suppliers onsite throughout the event.

Borderlands Festival operate a fully cashless site. All payments are taken on card at all bars and vendors.

The Borderlands Festival set times will be released in the weeks before the event on their website.
