Soul In The City

Soul in the City is Carlisle and the North of England’s dedicated Soul and Motown Night Club We opened on Friday the 25th of November 2011, our aim is to provide an air conditioned luxury late night venue for 200+ lovers of all types of Soul and Motown Music from the 60s,70s and early 80s. We play 99% of the tunes on original vinyl and our music policy is completely across the board, you request it we will play it. We are only open Friday and Saturday nights, with a 3am drinks license and have some of the lowest and competitive bar prices in the town. During festive periods such as Christmas, New Year, Easter and other bank holidays etc we will be open also. Our club is aimed at a typical age group of 25 to 65 years young and mainly at the 35 to 55 year olds in other words people who spent their youth growing up listening and dancing to all types of soul music from their days in youth clubs, soul clubs far and wide and witnessed the birth of the start of early and classic disco music in the mid-70s to early 80s in local clubs like The Cosmo, Flopps and The Game Bird at Newby Grange. We feel there is a demand for our type of nightclub for more mature people who want a good night out sharing it with people of their own age and a shared love of all types of Soul music and we aim to meet that demand as best we can.
