Review of Dinosaurs In The Park  - Chelmsford

Fantastic music.  Such a shame about the miserable weather but that can’t be helped. Would definitely book again

Review of Proms Spectacular

I bought 3 tickets (2 adult, 1 child) which cost the best part of £35. The dinosaurs were pretty good, but if I hadn’t encouraged my boy to spend extra time exploring it would’ve only taken 10-15 minutes to see the lot. I feel that the dinosaur park is a bit of an afterthought, and the real aim of the organisers is to get everyone into the fairground area where they can then charge extortionate amounts for food, drinks, and rides. The prices were outrageous; 3-6 quid depending on the ride, and if memory serves me, the hot roast pork and stuffing roll was lukewarm and it cost about 8 nicker. Obviously with a child there you are almost held hostage by the fact they want to go on everything and eat ice cream. I won’t go again and I would say to people who consider it, that it’s not even close to a cheap day out. 

Total Rip off  run very badly and some dinosaurs were making farm animal sounds !!! 

The dinosaur part was done rather quickly, and I felt it poor taste to add on a mini funfair to the end of the dinosaur attraction - which we obviously had to pay extra to use. face painting was from £5 to £8!! The bouncy castle whilst (thankfully) was included  - was set to 2mins per child, just enough time to get off their shows... go down a slide and that was it. Came away with empty pocket and disappointment frankly. real shame.

We had a lovely day visiting the dinosaurs.

Hylands Estate Chelmsford

Hylands House is a grade II* listed Neo-Classical elegant villa with meticulously restored period rooms from both Georgian and Victorian eras. Originally built as a modest red brick Queen Anne style home in 1730 by local MP Sir John Comyns, the house and parkland was redesigned by famous landscape designer and architect Humphry Repton.  Hylands House was rescued from ruin by Chelmsford City Council and restoration was completed in 2007.  Steeped in history and set amongst beautiful surroundings Hylands House is a fascinating place to explore.
