Review of SOULTASIA - Essex 2024
Overall a good day out but really need good weather. We went to VIP this year & not sure it's worth the extra money as sitting sideways onto the speakers. The bands this year weren't as good as previous years and the drinks are very expensive..

RIP off prices , I was made to surrender a small bag of sweets on entry. Inconsistent checking on bags on entry. 1 hour on queues for food.
Queues for food 1 hour and £12 for a hog roast bap and £6 for roast potatoes.
Beer £6 for a 440ml can... really?
Hugely disappointing overall

The music line up was great plus the DJ in between, although there were some technical problems with a couple of the bands. The location is good but could do with more entry points plus more event staff to ensure festival goers are in correct queue.
Food and drink outrageously expensive. As you can't take any food or drink in it works out to be an expensive day out.

Review of SOULTASIA - Essex 2024
Not enough toilets, too many women trying to get into gents urinals (wierdly), very offensive merchandise peddled by vendors not suitable for family events, too many inebriated idiots unable to stand up without falling onto other people, mostly average performances by lesser has beens with the exception of one or two, very pushy host trying to sell future events! Won't be going again!

Review of SOULTASIA - Essex 2024
Music, venue, ticket prices all really good value - ticket prices were a bargain! However , food stalls were extremely expensive and very poor value - £13 for a bowl of rice and 4 cubes of deep fried chicken which was then served cold is NOT acceptable and I resent being forced to pay these prices when you won't let me bring my own food in!

Review of SOULTASIA - Essex 2024
Our second visit but this time a few issues detracted from a good day out. We thought the line up was a little light and this was not helped by artists starting early. Gates opened at 1pm with live acts due on from 4 yet David Grant had just finished as we entered the site at 3pm. This was then followed by the Brand new heavies at 3.30 meaning the last 6 1/2 hrs was covered by 5 artists with a lot of downtime.
For much of the day the sound was poor - we struggled to hear 3/4 of the way back.
Food and drink as expected was expensive but this did not stop a few individuals over indulging and having to be ejected by security. There was also an issue around the gents toilets with women forcing their way past attendants to use the gents facilities ' not good when this was through the open urinel area.

VIP area needs more food stalls as only had choice of 2 and the Thai one ran out of food. The queues were too long for food and toilets. Food stalls should be arranged further from the toilets as queues intermingled. There should be more choice at the bar. Prices were too high for food and drink.
They should allow people to bring in snacks/picnic.
The line-up wasn't as good this year. Sound system was not great.
It was a good day, but lots of room for improvement.
