Review of Chester Christmas Food & Drink Festival
Purchased a VIP table for six people. There was nothing VIP about it. Booked 2-4 slot didn’t get allowed in until 2.15. No explanation of what happened with the table etc. Had to seek out a representative who showed us the table. The table had a bucket in the middle with 4 Xmas crackers for 6 people. Rep went to get drinks 6 mulled wines we waited 10 mins and she didn’t come back. My daughter whose birthday it was went to find her. Somebody else brought the lukewarm drinks back after 15 mins. Very small selection of stalls with Xmas products. Poor selection of food outlets. Expensive drinks mulled wine was a small measure mainly filled with fruit. The organisation of the event was diabolical! Venue was poor for this type of event. Very poor experience for the money would have been better going to the standard Chester Xmas markets.

Review of Chester Christmas Food & Drink Festival
A disgrace to call it a festival, and to charge for entry. We bought Saturday 7-9pm tickets but were completely bored and underwhelmed within minutes. We bought a hotdog and sat under the useless heater, which were actually commandeered by security staff rather than paying guests, only to be told by the organisers halfway through eating our food to vacate the table as it was reserved for a VIP booking. There were no reserved signs anywhere to be seen; disgraceful!
The free market near the cathedral was free and far better.
Never again. The organisers should be ashamed of themselves!

Review of Chester Christmas Food & Drink Festival
Having been to the Carriage Sheds previously, I was very disappointed with the event. We turned up with family that had not been to the Carriage Sheds before and I doubt they or us will be back. There were only a smattering of stalls compared to the normal events and the majority of stalls were selling food and drink. There were no bands playing when we arrived which stagnated atmosphere. We stayed for 5 mins, tried to complaint, but no one wanted to take any responsibility for the event. We ended up at the Christmas market in town, which was free and contained a larger variety of stalls. A large improvement would be needed if we were to attend again.

Review of Chester Christmas Food & Drink Festival
Atmosphere not as good as 2017 main lights left on so didnt feel "Christmassy", choir were good but last year German Band were "amazing" and crowd involving.
Good choice of food stalls and nice produce, not much choice on the drinks though

Review of Chester Christmas Food & Drink Festival
I paid £6.50 ..what a waste of money. Nothing there but a couple of drink and food stalls and a handful of stalls if that. A wind tunnel no music playing . Would never go again and feel totally ripped off

Review of Chester Christmas Food & Drink Festival
Completely the wrong day as their where hardly any stalls 8 in total, 4 of which sold drink which would have been far warmer inside a pub. The venue was like a wind tunnel completely open to the elements, we stayed as a party for 5 minutes maximum which is not value for money and would like compensating as we travelled a long way and booked to stay over night. A complete waste of time and effort. I will not be recommending this venue to anyone.

Review of Chester Christmas Food & Drink Festival
Awful! Nothing there, expected lots of stalls with nice things to purchase. Only food to actually eat there was being sold, maybe 4 stalls with other stuff. The whole area acts as a wind tunnel so it was freezing. Stayed about 5 minutes having dragged my 73 year old mother out with the promise of a lovely afternoon???

Review of Chester Christmas Food & Drink Festival
Disappointed with the event, the weather couldnt be helped..but to see security staff hogging all the heaters when paying customers were cold and disheartened wasn’t fair at all...the weather was sadly very wet, cold and at times miserable and had an effect on the event..

Review of Chester Christmas Food & Drink Festival
A great band, unfortunately the wind and rain driving into the area and the fact the ‘food festival’ amounted to a couple of fast food vans made the £54 I paid for a table a very poor buy. Only a couple of heaters with the security staff huddled round them and tbh there were plenty of free seats. The greeting staff were very friendly but other than that a very poor show. Won’t be visiting again.
