Review of Black Parade - 00\'s Emo Anthems & Chop Suey! Nu-Metal Anthems
Been going since the very first emo night at the live rooms, I think I'm the only person that has kept going. The venue is absolutely filthy as it always has been and outdated, the prices have gone up and it's a rip off for what it is. The only thing that kept me supporting them is the music and atmosphere, its the only alternative night in Chester which is a shame. But after last night I'm disgusted and won't be going again. My group only went as we love metal, however the metal room was closed... We would have gone to Asylum in Warrington or the Zanzibar in Liverpool if we knew the room was closed, it ruined our New Year and we feel ripped off. The DJ clearly loved emo/pop punk more than metal and barely played any, to the point where he kept making jokes about how everyone was complaining that not enough metal was played. Won't be going again, there's much better events on offer which are cheaper, offer more variety and at cleaner venues. This event has gone worse over the years, you would think it would get better!

I have been to three of these events and this one wasn’t as good as the previous two.
The music seemed random and the classics were so sporadic. The last 45 mins were great but the rest of the evening was a bit strange.
People weren’t dancing because some of the songs were so obscure.
I would still recommend these events but we felt this one was a bit disappointing.
The queues at the bar were crazy, the staff were working their socks off so it was no reflection on them but a lot of people were at the bar when previously everyone was dancing.

couldn't hear the music in one of the rooms as the speakers were so distorted
queue for the bar 20mins even though it wasn't that busy (the staff had to wait for the card reader)

Brilliant blast from the past and full of energy! I would have liked to have seen more people at the event, and I certainly could have been there for longer than 4hrs! But the event team looked the part and the atmosphere was fab. The music was so good I lost my voice about halfway into the night! I would definitely go again.
