Told where to put our seats but couldn’t hear or see - told staff but asked not to move until interval - unable to see or hear right through entire 1st half . Was advised not to move when complained right at outset and told to wait until interval &promised refund even if remained . No refund arrived yet... wish I had ignored staff or not asked and just moved anyway.

This was my first experience of outdoor opera and I can highly recommend it. The cast were brilliant, as was the accompanying pianist and the conductor. Each act was given a little preamble setting the scene and the singing, music, acting and set did the rest. The setting was lovely and it's a novelty to sit outside and enjoy the arts.

Magical experience and a wonderful cast. Valiant pianist taking on the whole of the score! We laughed, we cried, we would definitely attend any theatre experience at Astley Hall.

La Boheme at Astley Park in Chorley. The area in front of the stage is flat and so it may not be as good if you are sat at the very back. Close to a large car park so not far to walk. Music provided by electronic piano excellent. Singers very accomplished. The lady reading the synopsis before each act needed a microphone....but OK if you already know the story or had bought a brochure. Facilities enough with a coffee shop and pop-up wine bar for refreshments. All in all excellent.

A stripped down version of La Boheme. Spa**e staging and costuming. For me, this allows the music to shine through. To a simple piano accompaniment, the singing carried the performance and made for an enjoyable experience

The event was disappointing. The company had not got a sound system in place. Sound was poor and took away a lot of the enjoyment of the music. The stage needed to be higher as could not see a lot of the acting.
Seating arrangement was poor all in rows not creative enough for situation
The company actors were very good and there performances were excellent . All the above let them down.
