Butterworth Hall

For 30 years the Butterworth Hall has played host to a huge number of stars from the worlds of classical, popular and contemporary music and comedy alongside local youth orchestras and young people from local schools engaging in our extensive education programme. In 2009 our 1,500 seat concert hall was closed for a major multi-million pound redevelopment and now is a state of the art concert hall fit for the 21st Century. There is a new hydraulic stage, new flooring, new seats, improved acoustic and full wheelchair access as well as brand new technical equipment. In addition we can provide a stunning new rehearsal/performance space and new dressing rooms for artists and performers. The Butterworth Hall is also the location for key moments in the University’s calendar, such as the Vice Chancellor’s Address to Students and Graduation ceremonies. It is also a flexible large space that provides conference facilities during University vacations.
