Underbelly presents: Pip + Brette Wolfe + Homebread

Underbelly is hosting yet another DIY genre-bending night in Coventry. Expect alternative sounds from across the musical spectrum from dream pop to post-punk to mid-west emo. We're so excited to be joined by three of the midland's most exciting bands Pip, Brette Wolfe, and Homebread in one of the city's most exciting venues.  

When the Litten Tree Building closed its doors forever, the city lost one of the best venues in its history. Now, embodying the phoenix-like nature of the City it inhabits, the community arts charity has risen from the rubble and taken over a new space, the Priory Centre and Undercrofts. This space is steeped in history dating back to the 11th century. We cannot wait to help LTB chart a new course for this incredible space. 

Pip
Birthed from a smoky uni house in the throes of COVID, pip are one of Birmingham's finest alternative outputs of late. The core of their musical identity is a heady mix of dream pop, mid-west emo, grunge, alt-rock, and jazz. On the back of their debut EP  "are we there yet?" and support slots for Man, Woman, Chainsaw among others pip have quickly established themselves as stalwarts of the Birmingham alt scene and we are delighted to be hosting them for their first Coventry headline. 

Brette Wolfe
Brette Wolfe are one of the most exciting bands playing in the midlands right now who've garnered attention for delivering intricately crafted and emotionally charged songs as vehicles for their often brutal, contemplative lyrics. Their sound swings from morose alt-rock, to art-folk reminiscent of UK contemporaries like Caroline, to ethereal shoegaze with washed-out walls of sound, heady guitars, and subdued vocals. If Brette Wolfe's demos are anything to go by, their debut release will be incredible for the moment you'll just have to see them live.

Homebread
Finishing the stellar lineup, Homebread are one of Coventry’s most exciting acts and have graced the stage of multiple Underbelly line-ups since our inception. Emerging out Warwick Uni’s alt scene they've gained traction despite being unreleased, which speaks volumes about how good these peeps are live. Expect a sound somewhere between MW Emo and British Post Punk.
