Review of Elf Hunt 2020 - Marbury Country Park

We really enjoyed the Elf Hunt at Marbury Park.
Thankyou so much, such a lovely thing for me to do with the kids and it was very well organised and set out.


Very over priced for the event. 
Other people was doing it without paying.
Needs more interaction and maybe some treats along the way.


Charging for a walk round a park that you can go for free anyway. People could do the hunt without paying and at the end the children just given a paper certificate, not even a cheap selection box!!

They all did great

My 2 year old loved it and so did my 1 year old from the comfort of his pram! Wasn't too long for his little legs and the pathway was pram friendly 

I paid £25 altogether for a family ticket and two adult tickets for two grandparents. I am not sure what exactly we paid for? And why adults were also charged to do this trail?  It was a very basic trail around part of the park with people dressed as elves along the way, some of which looked far too cold to be able to spread any festive cheer.   I feel it could have been made to be so much more fun, there should have been more festive engagement with the children for example short games or fun puzzle solving with each elf along the way.   Fairy lights and light structures could have also been included to make it a bit more magical for them. We were also disappointed when we arrived at the end of the trail that the children never received a small gift or treat, the ‘Honorary Elf’ certificate was ok but we expected a bit more from the price we paid, maybe a Father Xmas congratulating the children at the end? 
In hindsight, due to how poor the trail was we should have just paid for tickets for the children, there was no need for the adults to pay to do this trail also.
Marbury is one of our favourite parks and I have been visiting since I was a child. I expected more from this visit and for that reason I wouldn’t recommend this trail to anyone.

Excellent event  well organised and kids loved it 

Was lovely and pleasant and was a lovely festive thing to do for an hour or so. Enjoyed the fact that there were real life elves to talk to along the route, some were better than others, perhaps a bit of a script would help the elves who didn’t really know how to interact with small children. Am a bit confused why there was a charge as literally anyone could enter the park and complete the trail without having paid.  Obviously the only thing you got from paying for the trail was the sheet to complete as you walk around. Still it was only £10 and the organisers did a good job.

What a fab time we had! Low cost, fresh air, friendly elves...well organized and kids loved it. Maybe a little present or sweets at end be nice too.
