Review of UK Subs
It was the 96th time I had seen the UK Subs. This was the most provincial setting of all. I was even able to go for a walk in the woods by the canal between bands. Great to have a range of real ales to quaff during the gig rather than the same old same old brands at most corporate venues. Pity the last train from Northwich towards Manchester on a Sunday is 21.31 which was a major drag

Review of The Big Peach & The Be Positives LIVE at The Salty Dog
Must be getting old as I left with twenty minutes to go, as the sound was too loud. That apart all was fine - Myles From School opening ploughing his own unique musical furrow including a Kevin Ayers cover - The Big Peach, a pleasant surprise; tunes reflective of the 60s pop / blues scene [more Doc Thomas Group than Beatles] - lead vocal being shared between three folks on the front row of the band, some sweet harmonies as Nick Lowe maybe once said, thinking of which they had a confidence / swagger / fun factor reminiscent of Brinsley Schwarz. For folks under 40 maybe a new sound - and for those over a comfortable blanket taking you back 50 years Closing the night The Be Positives, the band I had gone to see, playing the tunes I had already heard a few times on the local Radio...sadly a disappointment - purely down to the sound - too loud which means I was too old...never mind will catch them again sometime somewhere.

Review of Spunk Volcano and The Eruptions
Never seen Spunk Volcano before although I have all their albums. Would definitely recommend them, excellent live band.
Great venue too, good choice of reasonably priced ales.
