About

GREENHOUSE PRESENTS returns from a huge debut last month to bring you two fresh projects homegrown in the midlands.

Stop at Green (@stop_at_green) is an instrumental jazz ensemble featuring Dan Johnson (guitar), Leon Wilson (bass), Gemma Fuller (trumpet), and Neil Richards(drums). With original compositions by Dan and a selection of thoughtfully chosen covers, the band crafts a captivating blend of beat-driven groove and melodic explorations. Their performances offer audiences a fresh take on jazz, merging intricate rhythms with intriguing harmonies. Join them on this musical journey and get ready to groove! Influences: J Dilla, The JB’s, Grant Green, Khruangbin.

Tokamak (@tokamak.band) is a collective band of 11 musicians.
The concept is simple ; 1 band, 1 conductor, 150 hand signs.
Tokamak’s music is totally improvised. The conductor and the musicians communicate with the hand signs. The signs include ; Harmony, Rhythm, orchestration, layers, dynamics, arrangements…
This language was created by a musician from Argentina called Santiago Vasquez. It is very popular in Europe and south America. Tokamak is the first band using this system in the UK.
Let’s put our dancing shoes on and get ready for a blast of Energetic Music!
Band:
-    Dom Scohy : conductor
-    Richard Belfitt : Guitar
-    Steve Canner : Bass
-    Pete Beard : Keys
-    Richard Kensington : Percussions
-    Dan Brigstock : Drums
-    Jessica Sanders : Tap dancing/minor percussions
-    Mitch Prober Watt : trumpet
-    Myles Noble : Alto sax
-    Chad Bean : Tenor/soprano sax
-    John Hawkins : Baritone sax

As usual with Greenhouse events, there will be a Jam at the end, with the added benefit of the members of tokamak being able to teach the sign language to any musicians that want to learn a bit and enjoy improvising.

See you all there x
