BANG featuring Hypothetics, The Roebucks, and Redwing

Our gig night, every other month at The Hairy Dog brings fresh music to Derby's best venue. Gigs run 6pm til 9pm - there's not a lot else to do on a Sunday except eat good dinner, have a nap, pop to a gig, and still get home early cos it's a school night, right?

Hypothetics
Hypothetics are an innovative post-grunge four-piece based in Bristol.

Constantly refining, they are known for their hardened sound, filtered through hazy folk melodies and tortured electronics. Motivated by an intense pride they have for their music, they aren’t afraid to rewire themselves creatively to show the audience something new.

Their reputation for progressive releases and hard hitting performances has landed Hypothetics shows across the UK with appearances at Forwards, 2000trees and Boardmasters.

Their debut EP 'GETS LET DOWN! received extensive attention from BBC Radio 1 as well as Spotify's editorial playlists, including 'Hot New Bands', 'Post Punk' and 'Melomania', and they were included in CLUNK Magazine's 'Ones to Watch 2024' alongside the likes of Opus Kink and Fat Dog.

The Roebucks
The Roebucks are a four piece from Brighton whose idiosyncratic take on an alt-country / Americana sound is at times woozy and tender, at other times earthy and bluesy. While the band have been around since 2022, the addition of drumming / vocalist powerhouse Sophie Moloney in early 2024 has seen the band truly hit their stride in terms of elevating both their songwriting and their live performances to a whole new level. Lush three-part harmonies interlace with Dwayne Allman-esque riffs and the tightest of rhythm sections to conjure up their own uniquely warm take on a familiar genre. The band have been wowing audiences up and down the country this year, and recent appearances have included festival slots at Black Deer Festival and Mutations Festival, as well as high profile support slots with the likes of The Heavy Heavy and Langkamer. Having signed to Goo Records in October 2024, the band will be releasing their first single with the label in early 2025.

Redwing
Redwing are a 4-piece British Rock band from Matlock, Derbyshire. The band formed in late 2023, a collection of 80’s kids brought up by the Woodstock generation. 

Brothers Gareth & Liam Barkley-Smith reached out to Lou Fairlamb and Mike Dolton to form up after years of wanting to make music together, but never finding quite the right moment. That moment though, is now. 

Redwing fuse Gareth's warm powerful voice, Lou and Liam’s rich bass and guitar tones and Mike’s punching grooves with gratifying harmonies and delicate lyrics delivering a sound that will demand you sit up and pay attention.

All bands are on a door split so they get a fair share of ticket sales - we take our expenses out AFTER bands have had their share. By supporting these gigs you are genuinely directly supporting bands. Of course as standard, unlike bigger venues neither us nor The Hairy Dog take commission from any merch sales.
