About

Welcome to The Indie Night, the ultimate live music event dedicated to showcasing the best up and coming UK bands! Established in 2023, our mission is to support live music, nurture new artists, and celebrate the vibrant music scene in various locations throughout the UK.

At The Indie Night, we believe in the power of live music to connect people, inspire creativity, and create memorable experiences. We are passionate about giving talented artists a platform to showcase their skills and connect with music lovers who appreciate originality and raw talent.

Not only are we committed to promoting emerging artists, but we also strive to support local music venues. We believe that these venues are the lifeblood of the music industry, providing spaces for artists to perform and fans to gather. By hosting our events in different locations, we aim to shine a spotlight on these venues and contribute to their sustainability.

Join us at an Indie Night and experience the energy, talent, and camaraderie that live music brings. Discover your new favorite band, support local artists, and contribute to a greater cause. Together, we can make a difference in the world of music and beyond.

After the success of The Indie Night over the last 12 months we’ve decided to throw one more Indie Party to finish the year on with four of the best new up coming indie bands around - Spangled, Breeze, The Cottons and Romy & The Rhads! Let’s see 2024 out in style and keep building the new music community in Derby for the good of up and coming artists, grass roots venues and good causes.

Spangled

Poised to release their best new music to date, Spangled are strapping in for a big
2024. With plans in the pipeline for festivals, UK shows and more shows across
Europe, 2024 is the year to see them before they hit the stratosphere.
In 2023 Spangled garnered further attention after a spell binding set at Oxford’s
TRUCK festival on the Market Stage, the biggest they have played on. They showed
a level of showmanship that you’d expect from a household name that have been
around for twenty years, let alone a small indie band from Manchester who have only
been cutting their teeth a few years. It’s a sign of things to come and the only way is
up.
Born out of an irresistible love for music between two best friends, Spangleds’ genre
defying sound permeates earholes across the world. Telling stories of love, loss,
space and crumpets, Spangled are at the forefront of the new Manchester music
scene, with a cult following in their home city.
In a short space of time, Spangled have dazzled crowds across the UK & Europe
with their catchy hip swinging melodies and unrivalled energy on stage. It’s in their
every essence to perform to the very limits of their capabilities, connect with fans and
make music that stands the test of time.
Drawing influences from the likes of The Hives, Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Talking
Heads and Pulp; Spangled have set their sights on blurring the lines between the
genres of guitar music and giving birth to a symbiosis of music.

“One of the best EP’s we’ve heard in years” – ThisFeeling

“I flew to Sweden to see them for the first time, that’s how desperate I was and it was
worth every penny” – John Kennedy, Radio X
“Frenetic speed ball energy” – Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6

“Manchester boys bring energy and euphoria by the lorry load and the good news is
there’s more to come” - GigSlutz

Hull Band BREEZE Ignites the Indie Rock

Scene!  Hull band BREEZE is rapidly emerging as a leading force in indie rock. Formed in October 2021 by brothers Albert, Harry, and Alfred Anderson, the band made an unforgettable debut with their single "Touch the Sky," which quickly gained attention across the UK for its explosive energy.

2022 was a breakthrough year for BREEZE. Their single "Eyes Wide Open" earned praise from fans and celebrities alike, with actor Robert Carlyle calling it "90s style goodness...

Top tune!" The band followed up with "Adrenaline " celebrated by Right Chord Music for its "killer riffs" and appeal to indie rock lovers. These releases solidified BREEZE'S reputation as a rising star in the indie scene. The band's momentum continued with live performances supporting James Arthur at a sold-out Bridlington Spa show and sharing the stage with Kasabian, Royal Blood, and James at Y Not Festival 2023. They ended the year with two successful UK tours. In 2023, BREEZE released "She's Got It," a track evoking the essence of classic 90s ballads. They played their first major festival at Y Not and supported The View at Grimsby Docks Academy.

In 2024, BREEZE performed at the Isle of Wight Festival and released two new tracks, "Stay Young with You" and "Shoot It Down," both of which gained airplay on John Kennedy's Radio X and Jericho Keys' BBC Introducing. They are set to perform at the grassroots festival, This Feeling By The Sea, at Bridlington Spa.

Cottons
Comprising of frontman Charlie, bassist/vocalist Rick, guitarist/vocalist Jasper and drummer Jack, the alt pop group formed while all its members – dotted around the UK – after two of them met at a university open mic in their first year, it turned out the other
two were also studying music at the same place, and thus forming Cottons. They shared
a strong bond over their love for a variety of genres but it was clear indie bands where
at the top such as Two Door Cinema Club, Bombay Bicycle Club, Foals, as well as earlier artists such as The Smiths, The Who and The Beatles.

Jasper - “Music really Is that one thing that brings people together, and for us this is
certainly the case, it brought us together as a band, also strengthening our relationships
and understanding where the qualitieslie within. This has developed over time and we
believe this is starting to show itself in our latest material. We have all made sacrifices in
our lives to run this project, involving long distance relationships and time spent away
from partners, this, reflected in our tracks, but it’s all worth it for what we believe is the
next era of 2010’s altpop”

Romy & The Rhads
'Romy and The RHADs' are an Exciting, New, Indie Rock Band emerging from Nottingham in the UK.
Made up of Four Teenagers: Romy (Lead vocals, Guitar), Hayden (Lead Guitar), Ali (Drums), and Dom (Bass). They formed in Nov 2023 and play all Original songs written by Singer Songwriter Romy. 2024 has seen them smash their sets at Dot to Dot, The EYES Have It, and The BBC Introducing stages of Lincoln Live and Hockley Hustle. Their Debut single 'Abomination' is out now and they are definitely one's to watch!
