Come along and join us for a night of great music from three great bands! We have two brilliant local bands to open and headline the night and we are also lucky to have Jopy on tour from Brighton on their UK tour! A little bit about the bands -
Kez -
‘Punk poetry, sharp acerbic wit, rumbling baselines, biting guitar tones and spoken word coupled with stand out tracks like their debut single ‘Sym-pathetic’ will make for an unforgettable evening of top top new music. Post punk music at its very best.’
Jopy -
‘Jopy are a Brighton based three-piece led by songwriter Jo Parnell, and release their debut EP on Goo Records on 20th September. Featuring six tracks including recent singles Head Hunters Pub & Grub and Graveyard Romance, the Planet Zombie EP showcases the band's B52s/Cramps influenced glam punk sound chocker with incendiary punk riffs and frantically infectious choruses. Full of macabre joy, the EP sees Parnell celebrate her queerness through fantastical camp-horror fictions via Marc Bolan-esque vocals rolled into one blood-curdlingly gleeful package. Tracing these songs' deeply personal origins, Parnell says: “I want to write songs that people can relate to and feel seen by without having to relive the more difficult aspects of their journeys. This is why I chose to convey my experiences in the form of fun, campy horror stories.”
“Short, sharp punk-pop songs of the wry and witty variety…the midpoint between Elastica and PJ Harvey’s twangier moments” Record Collector
Sura Laynes -
‘Formed in late 2022, Sura Laynes are a 4-piece rock and roll band from Derby, UK. The band’s original songs contain strong melodies and lyrics that instantly affect. Clean, crisp guitars and strong vocal harmonies give a nod to the bands that built them, with shades of the La’s, The Libertines and The Beatles detectable in their honest, heart on your sleeve sound.’
Doors at 7pm - first band on at 7:30pm and 10:15pm curfew.
