Review of Knockengorroch Festival 2024
Positives:
Lovely remote location in the Galloway hills. Good organisation and in house security. Friendly and attentive staff. What makes this festival great is the very friendly vibe, not a hint of agro from anyone. Everyone was made to feel included. Highlights for us were the acoustic village and the Langwhan (longhouse). Especially enjoyed Kathryn Tickell and Peatbog Faeries on the Bo Airidh Stage. Great Laser shows.
Apart from the wet weather, we had a great time especially when meeting up with our friends.
Food for Thought for the organisers:
The exceptionally heavy rain. This made the arenas and campsites very boggy and many vehicles got stuck. I was advised in past years mats were laid down to help vehicle flow, but unfortunately this did not happen this year. Because of the boggy terrain, Live in vehicles were excluded from grassy areas and were directed to park crammed together on hardcore areas (too close together for comfort and nowhere near the size of the additional area we had paid for ). Apart from not being able to park beside our friends, this then made the muddy walk to the stages quite a long distance especially for older people with minor disabilities.
Entrance to the site on the Thursday morning. We had waited from 9am for the scheduled opening at 10am. Apparantly because the machines to scan the tickets were not available then, there was a long delay until the scanners arrived at the entrance and even then at least one of the scanners had difficulty in functioning properly. Would more scanners have helped or a back up method of checking tickets and counting people be considered. It hardly likely that people are going to come all that distance with the risk of not being let in with forged tickets.

Review of Knockengorroch Festival 2024
This was my second, and certainly not my last time at Knockengorroch. Friendly vibe, fab music, beautiful surroundings, and lots of interesting stuff to do. Also good facilities, a first aid tent, and a welfare tent which helped me out when my tent started leaking, and went out of their way to help and make me feel at home. I loved the experience, people, vibe and will be back next year!

Fabulous festival, really brilliant atmosphere and the perfect size. Super sweet crowd. Music a bit misjudged at some times, but also some outstanding acts, so no real complaints here.
