Centre-based Children Youth Work Within the Centre programme, there is a wide variety of learning activities for both children and young people. For pre-school we have the Toddle Tots. Little Gym time and Mini Kickers. Primary school aged activities including Gymnastics, Football Coaching (YSDP), Judo, Drumming and Funky Feet. Also Judo is available for older youths alongside youth clubs and job shop. Centre-based Adult Learning The Centre has a wide and diverse programme of opportunities for adults. If you want to learn about computers, we have a variety of classes including Digital Photography, Dundee Healthy Living Initiative (DHLI) supports various groups such as men's health groups, relaxation city-wide health issues and the Kirkton Walkers. There are also Ceramic Arts, Judo and history groups available. Local Management Group The Local Management Group plays an important role in supporting and developing the Centre Programme. The Young at Heart and Tai Chi are aimed at the 50+. The Art Made Easy, Digital Photography Group, Decoupage Group, Cardio Combat, Boxercise and Roly Poly (card making) group are always looking for new members to join them. We also run a community newsletter called the Kirkton News and are looking for local people to become involved with this. We are always looking for new members to join us and support our work in continuing to make the local community proud of their Community Centre. Volunteering Kirkton Community Centre relies heavily on volunteers to make the programme as diverse as possible: therefore there are always volunteering opportunities available in the Centre. Currently we have 30 volunteers involved in all aspects of the centre programme. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, or just want to find out more, please contact the Centre Manager.
