For more than a century, Redhills has been the home of the Durham Miners’ Association, playing a central role in the lives of the people of the Durham Coalfield. This stunning building has a rich history and unique place in the city. Lining the walls of the ‘Pitman’s Parliament’ are some of the finest banners ever made, paraded only one day of the year at the annual Miners’ Gala. These banners, coupled with the unique acoustic of this hall - designed so every voice could be heard - make for a truly special atmosphere.
