Great artist at a really good, comfortable venue. Vocal volume was too low for first half but improved markedly after the interval. The fly in the ointment is the adjacent, multi-storey (and, admittedly, cheap) car park - almost impossible to navigate on foot!

Review of Gretchen Peters w/her band & The Southern Fried String Quartet

First time i've seen Gretchen peters I love her music and this translated beautifully  to the live performance .we got very good seats at , by today's standards , an astonishingly good price .
I don't go to many music gigs nowadays due to mainly work and family commitments .used to go to a lot when younger  roundhouse and Kingston polytech were my favourite haunts .Did see a bluesman Lewis Hamilton  a few weeks ago and like Gretchen a captivating musician .I was struck at both gigs by the lack of friendliness of audiences in general .No signs of people enjoying themselves .secluded in their own little worlds .
I'm maybe wrong and really am looking back to different times when random people had a few friendly words  with each other . 
I maybe  also wrong in thinking that it can' t be great for artists performing in an atmosphere  with no audience feedback .
I  suppose  rock concerts are different .Maybe not just the music but also the audience age and expectations .I'm 63  have a fun life .Are a lot of my peers struggling to remember what fun is ?
Getting back to Gretchen Peters though .beautiful ,emotional ,thought provoking songs .very tight band .her voice is captivating .
Would love to see her again but maybe for example  in Ireland where people haven't forgotten about fun and frindliness .
