Third time I've been here. Was nervous about state of ground as had been raining near constantly for previous few weeks. Ground outside was much better than expected but both venues in tents so a bit boggy especially second tent. Gates were supposed to open at 11.30am but not opened until after midday. Cancellation of The Kooks headliners was unfortunate but well announced online and on boards at the event. Customer service at bars and food was great and plenty of choice. Variety of bands and cheap ticket prices are second to none. This is a great independent festival local to where I live and it would be fantastic if it continues. Well done to all involved x

Been to kubix a few years running, love the atmosphere, love the choice of 2 stages. You can't help the weather... but.. you know how muddy it gets!! Put boards down, or hay, or sawdust or something!!! Also you need more toilets - you know how many tickets are sold.. everyone is drinking so triple the amount of usual loo visits or person!! I'll be going again, hope these 2 things improve

Thoroughly enjoyed the day, yet again. You can't book the conditions from the previous week and The Kooks might have their reasons for letting people down, but that's their business. For value, this festival can't be beaten. Jake Bugg and Neds were worth the admission alone. The View were superb, as were The K's. If there is a criticism it is that access to the main tent was uncomfortably blocked by people with camping chairs and queues in the mud for toilets. Otherwise, how can anyone complain about something of this quality, at such a competative price, right on the doorstep?

The only downside for me was that I had an accessible pass as I'm disabled and the toilet situation was horrendous

Monument Festival is located at Herrington Country Park in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, DH4 7EL.

Certainly! Monument Festival is a family friendly event and children of all ages are welcome! Junior tickets allow access, at a reduced price, for children aged 15 and under. Under 18s are welcome, provided they are accompanied by a responsible ticket-holding Adult over the age of 21.  Children 5 and under are free and do not require a ticket.

Monument Festival's Security Provider are specialists in Live Music Events and supports its provider in ensuring that their zero-tolerance approach to anti-social or disruptive behaviour maintains a calm and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

Each attendee can bring a small bottle of water or soft drink up to 500ml, if it remains sealed, as bought.  Free drinking water will be available at points throughout the festival, so you can bring an empty reusable plastic or aluminium bottle to the event for water refills. Alcohol cannot be brought into the event.

Any person with specific dietary requirements can inform the festival organisers in advance and, where suitable options aren’t available on site, they will give dispensation to bring suitable food to the event. Please email INFO@KUBIXFESTIVAL.CO.UK if you have specific dietary requirements.  Personal picnics are also permitted into the event, upon arrival, but no metal/glass utensils, glass bottles (including perfume bottles), or cool boxes, for safety and security reasons can be brought into the event.

Further take away food cannot be brought in during the event.  There will be a wide choice of caterers who will be very reasonably priced.

Please note, to allow time for security bag searches, a 'no big bags policy' will be in operation, so no large rucksacks or bags are permitted. Only small rucksacks/bags with length/width dimensions no larger than a piece of A4 paper can be brought into the music arena.

Yes, you can.  Once you have entered the Monument Festival, you can leave any time you wish and re-enter (further picnics cannot be brought in on re-entry) by showing your wristband, which you will be given. There will, however, be a last entry time to the event of 8pm, after which time you will not be able to re-enter the event.  This is to ensure that as much attention as possible to paid to the running of the event at its busiest times and the site can be made ready for the exit of all of the attendees in a safe manner.

There is a small amount of seating and tables around the bar area. If you would like to bring your own folding chairs or blankets, please feel free.  There will, however, be an area immediately in front of the stage which will be marked as standing only and no chairs/blankets will be permitted in that area for safety reasons.

Monument Festival is an open-air 'music in the park' style event with great views from all areas of the park and video screens for enhanced viewing enjoyment.

Unfortunately, for safety reasons, dogs are not allowed, except for guide or assistance dogs, who will be permitted.

Monument Festival aims to be much more than just the live music and there will be various other activities within the event, including fairground rides, lots of new children's entertainment, novelty attractions and a variety of traders exhibiting items for sale along the theme of the event.
