Review of Lumley Castle Twilight Christmas Market
Venue isn't suitable for large numbers of people in cars. Parking was a nightmare. No lighting on the roads was dangerous. Lack of signage to entrance. Didn't start on time. More like an expensive craft fayre than a Christmas mark*t. I expected more seasonal fayre. Like cheeses, preserves, alcohol etc , som**hing different for Christmas celebrations and gifts. We only stayed 10 minutes.

Review of Lumley Castle Twilight Christmas Market
To be honest parking was a nightmare. We drove round twice before finding a space on a verge. Also needs some outside lighting, getting from the car to the entrance was dicey. Inside was full of lovely stalls.

Review of Lumley Castle Twilight Christmas Market
The Parking was insufficient, poorly signposted and problematic; the lighting was poor, we didn't expect that the 'twilight' would extend so much into the interior; it was very crowded, consequently it was so packed that the access to stalls was poor. Because of the cramped conditions I believe that emergency evacuation would have been a problem and Although the singer was good the volume was intrusive. Finally, I was poorly after having a warm turkey sandwich. We are unlikely to go another evening event.

Review of Lumley Castle Twilight Christmas Market
Beautiful venue with lovely Christmas atmosphere but no organisation as far as parking and should have one way system as cars trying both ways to move causing danger to walking pedestrians also should be designed inside as a one way system around stalls too many people jam packed together

Review of Lumley Castle Twilight Christmas Market
There were too many people for such a small space. You could not look around properly as felt pressure from people to keep moving! Getting tickets was pointless when letting in so many people who turned up on the evening. Numbers need to be more controlled if you are going to have it in such small space

Review of Summer Showdowm Lumley Castle
Very few stalls. Advertised free parking but difficult to find a space. The only hot food available was either an overpriced burger or hot dog for £7 each provided by Lumley castle. Paid for an unlimited inflatable ticket online before we went, but no one even asked to see it so we could have just used the inflatables for free like lots of other kids were doing: a waste of £12.50. This ticket was advertised as including the already mentioned inflatables, exotic animals, llamas and bumper cars. All of the animals were there for anyone to seeeven without a ticket so definitely feel ripped off. Only good thing about it was that I liked the young singer.

Review of Summer Fest Lumley Castle
Got there at 12.40pm.
No signs of where things were.
Only saw a large field with a few things on. At 12.55, we walked to the top of the castle steps.
A stall holder came out and was putting their own signs up to say where al of the craft bits were as nobody knew they were indoor.
2 very small rooms with various craft things in.
No signs as to where to get wristbands for the bouncy castles.
You wakes to the bouncy castles, to have to walk back to a stall to get them, then back to the bouncy castles. Bit of a silly system.
Not sure why I had to go through the headache of getting tickets as nobody asked for them and the event organiser on the day on Facebook was just telling people to turn up and they didn't need tickets.
No signs as to where any singers were. Don't fancy wandering round in the boiling heat roaming round a castle trying to find where they were.
Some chairs/benches on the field where the bouncy castles were would have been nice for disabled guests. There was nowhere to sit here other than the floor which my disabled parents would not be able to get down to, or back up from and this is where the bouncy castle etc were that children could have went on for 4 hours! Did they expect people to stand for 4 hours? Even sitting on damp grass was bad enough for those of us who could sit.
To be honest I thought the whole thing was badly organised, no signage, no signs for nearest toilet facilities, no signs for any baby change or first aid help. No signs as to where things were and for it being advertised as a ticket only event I expected something more than 3 bouncy castles and maybe 30/35 stall holders and a little bit of catering.
We stayed around 30 minutes. It was enough to see everything and be disappointed.
Sat on the damp grass in the blazing heat (a shaded area with chairs or a marquee would have made the event so much better and to sit would have been nice for our disabled guests).
Wouldn't go back if they held it again, especially not when I had to get tickets for the event, which then turned out you didn't need tickets.
I know the tickets were free, but the hassle of them being 'sold out' and then 'released again' was ridiculous. It wasn't exactly very busy there when we went and at capacity and nobody asked for tickets anyway.
There surely must be an easier way to hold the event and get numbers for Heath and safety reasons.
Disappointing and underwhelming.
