Church Hill Theatre Edinburgh venue information

The Church Hill Theatre is a former church in the Morningside area of Edinburgh and was converted into a theatre in the 1960s. For over nearly 50 years it has gained an established reputation as one of Scotland’s leading non-professional theatres. As well as being home to many of Edinburgh’s amateur theatrical companies, it is a popular venue for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The Church Hill Theatre is owned by the City of Edinburgh Council and managed by the Assembly Rooms team. Full of character and history, the venue has been refurbished and is available for event hire where performance programming allows. The traditional auditorium seats 353 and is ideal for lectures, readings and small conferences.
