Auld Spells

Sneaky Pete's, Edinburgh

Monday 9th December, 2024

---------------------------

Auld Spells make psychotropic sounds laced with lush dreampop undertones. The Edinburgh-based six piece is made up of singer and guitarist Tommy Danbury, formerly of the Los Angeles bands Lower Heaven and Magic Mirror; keyboardist Rob Fellman; Guitarist Jamie Hunter; Bassist Nicoletta Louca: drummer Peter Wilson of the band Rome; and the recent addition of vocalist Sandy Spanikova. The band’s reverb-drenched melodies mixed with psychedelia-infused garage rock, influenced by The Velvet Underground, Slowdive, and Neil Young brew a luminous tonic for strange times.
