Review of Annasach\'s Burns Night Ceilidh
My husband and I attended this ceilidh with another couple, and we all had a fantastic time. We especially enjoyed the fact that the band had selected some lesser-known dances, and started slowly and sped up as the dancers became more confident. We were also impressed by the quantity and quality of the haggis served! The address to the haggis was also superbly performed.
The only comments we have are about :
1. the timing - if the event had started and finished an hour earlier, we predict more people would have stayed on until the end. Our friends had to leave before the last few dances in order to get the last train home, and we noticed a number of the groups starting to flag towards the end. Also we would say the break after the haggis was perhaps a tad too long, losing the momentum somewhat
2. the caller - she was generally great and very entertaining, but sometimes she talked so much and went off on some tangents so that sometime swe had lost concentration and didn't realise she was back describing the steps.
Other than that, fab event and we'll definitely be back!
