Review of Midlothian Fire & Light walk - Vogrie Country Park
Certainly not for people with disabilities that's for sure ! My friend , with her teenage size son in a wheelchair were NEVER advised anywhere that this wasn't suitable. She should have been stopped at gate before even getting in . I ,myself struggled massively with using both of my crutches ,stumbling on ramps that cover wires on the path because they weren't visible ! The car parking was a shambles. Way too many people let in at a time .
Nice idea , nice location , badly executed as people ended up getting bottlenosed near the end of the trail .

Review of Midlothian Fire & Light walk - Vogrie Country Park
Parking area poorly lit and a bit chaotic with young children passing too close to incoming cars to get to the entrance of the event. Passing through the entrance gate was quick and efficient. The bar area and food van could have been more atmospheric and welcoming.
The walk was well laid out and the display on Vogrie house was stunning. Loved the candles lining the walk and the tree tunnel at the end with the lanterns. Fire show was ok but the painted wooden displays everywhere were a bit cheap looking. Fantastic having the open fire areas to sit round and let the kids melt there marshmallows ( hope health and safety allow that for future events). Further food stalls ...again poorly lit and promoted and other tent areas empty (not sure what they were there for?)
Overall....a nice walk on a nice evening but a bit amateurish for the price charged and the £2 exit cost was unexpected !
Need to up your game for next year considering Enchanted Forest tickets are only £2 more.
However...I do hope you are back bigger and better next year. Good luck.

some elements were excellent, but I'd drop the sword swallower!. Some guided assistance at car park for those unfamiliar with venue woul be good. A bit pricey.

Review of Midlothian Fire & Light walk - Vogrie Country Park
I feel like the event wasn't what we expected after paying almost £15 A ticket.. there wasn't much 'wow' in the performances either. Plus we couldn't join in on the melting of mallows because whoever decided to serve marshmallows with gelatine in them is a spoil sport. The visual stimuli however was great, aesthetically the place looked fun and we enjoyed the walk, I just wish they had more going on, especially in the fire department. I also wasn't particularly keen on how loud it was considering you were greeted with a sign at the entrance that said 'report wildlife crime' yet the event probably did nothing but intentionally disturb the wildlife at vogrie..

Review of Midlothian Fire & Light walk - Vogrie Country Park
Lighting over the house was amazing. Think music could have been more varied according to each exhibit. Have been to Pitlochry Enchanted Forest so have seen the bar set high.
Maybe more going on over the water?
Fire blasts powerful! A few tots tearful though. All in all an excellent event.

Review of Midlothian Fire & Light walk - Vogrie Country Park
Great event, we all had a fantastic night, one small comment would be some safety lighting where cabling crossed the pathways as the raised protection wasn't always easy to see, but we'd definitely come to another event. Well done!!

Review of Midlothian Fire & Light walk - Vogrie Country Park
Very effective the effort set up and planning didn't go un noticed,
Unfortunately we never got into the craft tent on arriving as it was rammed full so that was a shame as we had a little one with us,
We had a pit stop for a burger and watched the fire show and had marsh mallows Witch was lovely a extra bin I though was needed nearer the burger van!
All staff ,marshals and caricatures were friendly and helpful , I would defanitly recommend as well as going again next year thank you for a lovely night!

Review of Midlothian Fire & Light walk - Vogrie Country Park
Great event but the food was sadly lacking.
Has been told there would be gluten free options but was none.
£5 for an under cooked tiny portion of chips not good value.
Alcohol prices very inflated.
But the actual show was brilliant staff were great easy parking and good exit with not big ques.

Some very good parts to the event but mostly disjointed cheap looking and unimpressive. Also shockingly parking wasn't included in the steep ticket price and the majority of the events staff were unengaging and unfriendly.
