RISK MEDIA PRESENTS
BERTHAJU
Get ready, Edinburgh: BERTHAJU is giving her debut in the city! This Rotterdam-based female gaze indie rock band is making waves, and along with songs about old white men getting divorced and caring less about what other people think, you can expect a full-on show with choreography and the bass player breaking his legs while jumping. In January 2025, BERTHAJU will release their debut EP, BFC@18°. To celebrate, they’ll kick off their first European tour, including her first-ever Edinburgh performance in February 2025. A must-see for fans of Wet Leg, Orla Gartland, and Paramore, BERTHAJU is not leaving the stage until everyone is sweating and dancing their ass offff… mic drop.
The Fat Stacks
When Declan Gibson (vocals/guitar) met Tom Walker (lead guitar) at a jam session in Edinburgh, they immediately clicked, bonding over their interest for Brit rock, blues, and song writing. Shortly after, the pair organically met Conor McPhillips (drums) and Gregor Wilson (bass) through the Edinburgh music scene, marking the formation of The Fat Stacks. Currently, the band members live and work in Edinburgh, where they are writing and recording their debut album.
Woody And The Dogs
Woody and the Dogs are a tight-knit indie-rock quartet from Edinburgh who have quickly made waves with their infectious camaraderie, engaging live performances, and upbeat approach to their genre. The band's name pays homage to singer Brendan's dad's band ‘Wooden Dog' Alongside funky originals, their cover of Wooden Dog's song 'Crazy' is a staple of their live show, gathering friends and strangers alike for a wee boogie. Their debut single, 'Nervous' captures the band's signature energy and showcases Brendan's distinctive vocals and heartfelt lyrics, Jude's knack for crafting catchy guitar riffs, Ross's groove-infused basslines, and Marcus's explosive drumming.
Ace & All The Other Animals
Ace & All The Other Animals is the solo project of Ace Duncan; an 18 year old singer-songwriter from Edinburgh. Wise beyond their years with a lyrical prowess matching that of Conor Oberst and Elliott Smith - and with an octave clambering voice that calls to mind Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, and Wesley Schultz - they will stop you before you even start making tracks. Capable of playing solo or usually backed by all the "Other Animals" - an ever rotating cast of friends and musicians, designed to keep the creative process fresh - no two shows are ever the same, but they are always mesmerising.
