Half Moon Inn Cullompton

The Half Moon is the longest established inn in the parish of Clayhidon. The first records show a licence was granted to Thomas Salter in 1787. Next to St Andrews church, it was probably built originally as a cottage for stone masons to live in while they built the church in the 13th Century, and this ecclesiastical connection has continued in a totally unique way.

The pub has a fascinating history, an amazing view over the beautiful Culm Valley, a lovely log fire, and a great selection of Real Ales. These are all local and constantly changing. We are featured in the Good Pub guide and members of CAMRA.

We are not attempting to turn this historic Public house into a gastro pub. But we are winning votes for managing to turn it into a popular eating destination, while at the same time retaining that friendly local community Pub feel. We have recently been accredited with a Silver award from Taste of the West.

The Half Moon Inn puts on many events through out the year from Open Mic Nights, Beer Festivals , Ferret Racing, james bond Theme nights with many other events planned in the summer.
