Titchfield Festival Theatre

In the year 2000, a chance meeting brought together the Titchfield Abbey Association, who managed Titchfield Abbey on behalf of English Heritage, and Kevin Fraser, a business entrepreneur with a background in the theatrical world, and an intimate knowledge of many of Shakespeare’s plays. In particular, he had managed the Bromley Outdoor Theatre, and had a profound knowledge of operating in an environment similar to that of Titchfield Abbey.

The Titchfield Festival Theatre was born, and the Association promised to sponsor the Theatre, as far as fees for hiring the Abbey were concerned, until the Theatre was proved to be financially viable. Kevin Fraser was in a position to provide finance, and further sponsorship, from his own resources..


The first performance was scheduled to begin in the summer of 2001.
