About

Symbiosis returns after the summer recess and we're hyped to bring you a double-header lineup featuring the old-school and the new-school of the Scottish scene...
// Pollyanna [Sunday Service] //
Edinburgh local and Sunday-service mastermind Pollyanna joins us for her Symbiosis debut. In only two short years since Sunday Service began it has grown into a mainstay of the Edinburgh scene, providing a monthly community gathering and a springboard for budding new DJs to play out for the first time in a friendly environment.
The success of those daytime sessions has catapulted Pollyanna onto the club circuit with a bang, with appearances at Alien Disko, Candy Flip, Disorder, Niteshift, Jungle Magik, Midnight Bass and more. Fresh off a run of Sunday Service summer parties on Lochrin Belle canal boat, we're looking forward to hearing what one of the capital's best selectors has in store for the Symbiosis dancefloor!
// Paul Reset [Nerve / Xplicit] //
After a fairly lengthy hiatus from the D&B scene, the recent Xplicit reunion has tempted Paul Reset back to the decks, and we've tempted him once again to come and play for us at Symbiosis for the first time in over a decade!
Paul's roots in the Scottish D&B scene run deep; back in the early 2000s Paul was one of the figures behind both LiveVEvil and Nerve Recordings. On the club front, LiveVEvil saw Drum & Bass playing a big part in Glasgow's nightlife for five years. The night brought Scottish debuts from the likes of Photek, Pendulum and Black Sun Empire plus appearances from Total Science, Dom & Roland, Klute and many more at the legendary (and much missed) Glasgow Art School union. Following the end of LiveVEvil, Paul joined the roster of residents at Xplicit in Edinburgh and smashed out sets at the capital for many years.
Not content with his presence as a DJ in the Scottish scene, Paul launched Nerve Recordings in 2001 with Pyro, landing early releases from the likes of Gridlok, Psidream and SKC, not to mention the first ever 12" release from a little Dutch outfit called Noisia.
With well over 20 years appreciation for all things D&B and rave related, it'll be a treat to have Paul back on the Symbiosis decks rolling out his usual blend of deep, dark and techy.
// Support //
Providing support on the night will be Symbiosis residents Alcane, Hex & Calaco Jack who'll be warming up the dancefloor with a selection of fresh D&B and jungle cuts. Expect a mixture of brand new beats and classic anthems!
As always this event is completely free all night! Get down to Audio on Midland Street from 11pm - 3am.
