Symbiosis Drum & Bass 20th Birthday Party

Symbiosis returns and we're celebrating quite the milestone - 20 years of Drum & Bass events in Glasgow! We've got a seriously stacked line-up of B2B sets for the occasion too...

// imo-Lu B2B Winslow [Hospital / RoseBay / Soulvent] //

Two years on from her last appearance at Symbiosis, imo-Lu joins us once again and this time she'll be throwing down back to back with fellow Hospital alumni Winslow!

imo-Lu's rise through the D&B scene over the past two years has been a joy to watch, landing a series of releases on Hospital including remixes of scene legends London Elektricity & Nu:Tone, and also a release on Submorphics' Rosebay Music imprint. She's also been busy with monthly shows for Subtle Radio and frequent appearances at Scottish institution Midnight Bass.

Winslow meanwhile has had no less impressive a journey; an extensive discography spread across Hospital, Soulvent, Goldfat, Spearhead and Must Make has cemented his position as one of the best producers of forward-thinking, melodic drum & bass. After many years honing his craft stateside 2024 saw Winslow make the move to Glasgow to continue his musical journey and we're hyped to welcome him to the decks for his Symbiosis debut!

// Duskborn Alliance //

Our 20th birthday brings a special new collaborative project to the Symbiosis decks as Scottish scene legend Anikonik joins forces with a mysterious unknown figure to form the Duskborn Alliance!

As the mastermind behind Nook and Junglism and a regular headliner at events across Scotland including Electrikal, Bass Injection, Jungle Nation and of course Symbiosis, Anikonik should need no introduction as a slinger of the biggest and baddest basslines, so naturally we had to get her involved in our 20th birthday celebrations with a special B2B.

As for her partner in crime, the second member of the Duskborn lurks in the shadows for now, biding their time and sharpening an ever-growing arsenal of razor-sharp selections. All we can reveal is that they have a strong pedigree in the Scottish D&B scene and that the resulting back-to-back should be nothing short of fearsome...

// Hex B2B LD50 [Symbiosis / Central Beatz] //

LD50 should now be a familiar name to the Symbiosis crowd. The veteran DJ and Central Beatz co-founder has made his name across events in Leeds and beyond including appearances at London's legendary Fabric nightclub. Bringing a forward-thinking take on the tech and neuro sound, expect sharpened beats from a selector two decades deep in the game.

For our 20th birthday LD50 will be facing off against Symbiosis' very own Hex for a first of a kind back-to-back. With both DJs digging deep in their collections, expect an appropriately dark and energetic rollout; vintage Symbiosis business!

LD50's alter ego in recent years as a man of the mic and master of ceremony, MC LD has hosted everywhere from Leeds home Central Beatz to Outlook Festival, bringing the energy for the full range of D&B styles. Catch him hyping up the dance and keeping the crowd moving for our birthday celebrations!
