About

Headlining on 1st September, we have one of the UK’s best comedians who has just finished his first national tour with a show at the King’s Theatre. UK Comedian’s Comedian of the Year MARK NELSON is“as accomplished a stand-up as you are likely to see anywhere” Rolling Stone.

You may have seen/heard the host of BBC's The Good, The Bad and The Unexpected on Have I Got News For You, The One Show, The News Quiz, Have a Word, Some Laugh, Off the Ball, Breaking the News or his own podcast Absolute Cuts.

5x Winner of Best Headliner at the Scottish Comedy Awards

“Possesses a talent that is simply obscene”⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐List

"Perhaps the purest form of stand up" Arts Award Voice

"Mark Nelson is the kind of comic I could listen to all night" Scotsman

"Rarely has someone managed to be so simultaneously offensive and likeable" Fest

Opening, we have the incredible REVEREND OBADIAH STEPPENWOLFE  III. The loud-mouthed bible-bashing alter-ego of former teacher Jim Muir simply demands attention with his in-your-face evangelical preaching. The larger-than-life act is an impressive performance that can blow an audience away with the power of personality.

'His act is a tour de force in political incorrectness, and when blended with a brilliant sense of timing, it proves to be devilishly funny... Uproarious... Hilarious!' Broadway Baby

'Unforgettable character comedy’ Evening News

'The best comedian I've seen who doesn't have his own chat show....It baffles me that the Rev (played by Jim Muir) is performing at Fringe bar in Edinburgh when he could easily fill a prime-time slot on ITV’ The Spectator

'The man is a tornado, a fount of pitch-perfect jokes coupled with quite masterful timing and material that flouts the very laws of censure... Howlingly funny' Metro

He was a regular on all 4 series of BBC’s Live Floor Show, for which he was nominated for Scottish BAFTA’S best newcomer award.

His Edinburgh Fringe double-headline show with Frankie Boyle provoked massive, diverse reactions and was simultaneously hailed as the most exciting and original as well as the most offensive and dangerous show on the Fringe. The Reverend’s debut solo Edinburgh Festival Show, What Would Charlie Sheen Do? received 5 star rave reviews.

The Reverend’s alter-ego Jim Muir wrote on 2 series of the Channel 4 Jimmy Carr vehicle, Distraction and subsequently 8 Out Of 10 Cats as well as for BBC Two’s Mock the Week. Jim continued to be a key writer for Boyle’s own projects on and off-screen until 2012 when his own commitments took over.

Resident compere PADDY LINTON is fast becoming one of the most sought after MCs on the Scottish scene.

“It was genuinely exciting watching Paddy... made me remember why I love comedy" Darren Connell

We also have a SPECIAL GUEST as seen on BBC and Comedy Central.
