Thistle Power Productions presents; The St Andrew's Sesh! Powered by Step It Up Sound System!!

This sound system event features an energising mix of reggae music from across the generations and varying BPMs....this is an event that's not to be missed! 

Celebrating St Andrew's day in traditional fashion with good music and good cheer! Alongside Soundclash Vic on the ones and twos will be Step It Up's very own Doc C, bringing those mellow riddims to your mind, body and soul!! 

DJ Sub Habit will end the night rocking the dance with some dubwise, drum and bass sounds that are guaranteed to leave your earholes ringing!!!

On MC duties are Luibh Laoch, the vocal powerhouse Wends and the highly talented Pro Focus. Bringing soulful and energetic performances, each of these artists will be showcasing their style.

The St Andrew's Sesh DJs:

Doc C:

Doc C started out playing guitar as a kid in Lyon, France, then bands, then turntables! He fell in love with reggae music in France in his early 20’s.

Since moving to Edinburgh, Scotland in 2000 Doc C has been involved in the Scottish reggae scene, building Step It Up sound system in 2016.

Soundclash Vic:

Soundclash Vic is the "co-founder of Hometown Social Club in West Lothian and lover of all things techno and bass. Vic is also inspired by the raw sound of Jamaican Dub and joins this in with her lifelong passion for reggae music, resulting in a sound clash like no other!"

Sub Habit:

Sub Habit tears it up on the 160 tip, mixing drum n bass, jungle, juke, footwork and old skool hardcore. Skipping seamlessly through genres, keeping the pace high to bring the dancefloor higher.

The St Andrew's Sesh MCs:

Luibh Laoch:

Luibh Laoch is a multi genre vocalist from the west coast of Scotland, specialising in reggae and hip hop. This combination of sounds results in a raw, hard hitting style combined with deep and rhythmic vocals, resulting in a unique audio experience! Luibh Laoch is also the owner of Thistle Power Productions.

Wends:

Dancehall and festival legend Wends has become a staple of the Scottish sound system scene. Wends is a highly talented singer and MC that will get the dancefloor skanking with her melodic and powerful sound!

ProFocus:

Having established himself in Scotland as a technical lyricist and cultural Emcee with a passion for performing, Pro Focus shows no sign of slowing down as he propels forward with more live performances, solo projects and a plethora of collaborations that are sure to cement him as one of Scotland’s top live performers.
