I've been to a few ACSOM nights in Grace's but last night's event was the best yet, I've always thought big John seemed a nice guy but meeting him confirmed everything, he's an absolute gentleman he made my wife and I feel like we were his friends as even after the event he took the chance to talk to us even although he'd a long drive home to Edinburgh. His stories of his career, his time at Celtic, his cancer battle and his gambling addiction were so genuine and honest and there was a fair bit of humour involved too. They say never meet your hero's as they'll only disappoint but that wasn't the case with the big fella last night. Grace's has such a good atmosphere and the staff are always amazing and can't do enough to help you. I managed to place a winning bid in the auction for a signed canvas of the big man and got so many photographs as well. Thanks to Paul John Dykes and his lovely wife Lyndsey as they always put on great events and I can't wait for the next one with Johan Mjallby. It's been a tough year for us as my wife Krissy has severe kidney problems and I've just been diagnosed with prostate cancer but thankfully it's curable so God willing we'll both recover. Also there was a game called heads or tails to win a signed picture of big John scoring against the Huns where Krissy got to the last two but she lost to a young guy but he gave her the prize he won so I'd like to thank him from the bottom of our hearts it was a lovely thing to do and he got a great round of applause from the audience for doing so. If anyone's not been to an ACSOM night in Grace's I'd thoroughly recommend it, you'll have a great time as the tunes are great the atmosphere is always amazing and the guests are all top notch and the host is great at interviewing them.
