Review of The Dughoose Ska Band
The Dughhoose Ska Band, with their incredible brass section and cool bassy sound blasted out every ska classic you can think of from Madness' One Step Beyond to The Specials Too Much Too Young and even turned some classic rock and roll from the likes of The Clash's Rock the Casbah and Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl into amazing ska sounds. The place (which is a nice venue, reminiscent of the Cavern Club with its vaulted ceiling) was truly bouncing and after 90 minutes we still wanted more though our arthritic knees maybe couldn't have taken it! Brilliant 🤩

Review of KIKI BAND - From Japan! + Big Hogg
Great little gig. Kazutoki Umezu’s band played exciting and perfectly executed pieces- difficult to categorise. Mothers of Invention meets Mogwai - maybe not😊. But yeah, hard to categorise . Kiki should be much more widely known. In saying that, great to hear them in a wee venue like McChuills. The small audience were very vocal in their appreciation. Wish them well in their smallish tour. Really worth looking out for👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Support act Big Hogg we’re excellent also 👍
