About

SLIME CITY play fast existentialist nerd rock for 'people who like both sighing and fighting'.

Following their debut single 'Less Jools More Top Of The Pops', a track about the gentrification of music, they released four DIY singles, including 'Dial-up Internet Is The Purest Internet', and 'You & Everybody That You Love Will One Day Die' (called 'Sound of the summer' by BBC Radio 1 Scotland).
After sold out headline shows in Glasgow, London, and Bristol, they toured with cult rock legends Mclusky and 90s DIY icons Bis before releasing their debut album in 2023, which peaked at number 5 in the Official Scottish Album Charts and it would've gone higher if it hadn't been for that Lewis Capaldi and those Sleeptokens.

"They sound like Dead Kennedys on a diet of Cardiacs and Life, a bit like those few great Sparks albums released around 1974" - Louder Than War
"Like Devo, if they had come from the Strathclyde Regional Council area" - Is This Music?
"Angular indie-pop bangers" - The Skinny
"Discordant manic thrill monster" - The Herald
"SlimeCity's debut track is our new unofficial anthem" - Dork Magazine
"I don't think I like [this]" - Simon Le Bon, Duran Duran

FFO: Brainiac, Weezer, Art Brut, Devo, Sparks, Cardiacs, Future of the Left
