Visualising Music: A Generative Graphics Workshop with Alba G. Corral

A two-day workshop of drawing with code and creating generative graphics using Processing, a flexible software sketchbook and a language for learning how to code within the context of visual arts.
Participants will gain a basic knowledge in the use of Processing, be introduced to the initial concepts of programming, developing a deeper knowledge in creating visuals and generative graphics with a focus on ‘art code.’
Introduction to Processing and the language of visual sketches, understanding the principles of coding and the importance of Open Source, the Processing community, creating the first lines of code and managing reference points.
Creating small lines of code to create great results, introduction to syntax, leaning to talk with the machine and control it, continuos operation, interactive drawing using the mouse and how to use libraries.
Suitable for visual artists, designers, programmers and those with an interest in visual and graphic generative code. No prior knowledge is required. Participants should bring a laptop with them.
Time: Sat 21 & Sun 22, 13:00 - 16:00. Tickets are valid over a two-day period.
