The Convent, situated in South Woodchester near Stroud and the former home of Poor Clares Convent, is a spectacular grade II listed venue currently undergoing an extensive £3.5m redevelopment.
The first part of the exciting development launched at the end of 2013; a brand new private members' club giving members the chance to enjoy exclusive access to a completely renovated lounge and bar area, with live jazz from international calibre performers on Friday and Saturday nights.
Previous acts to have already graced The Convent include Lisa Simone, Ed Harcourt, Sarah Jane Morris, Boo Hewerdine and more; theatre productions and other special events will be staged on an ongoing basis; and visitors can also expect to see specialist exhibitions running along the cloister walls.
Boasting extensive gardens, an orchard and grazing land, original architecture and period features around every corner, The Convent is a truly unique setting and one of Gloucestershire’s most exciting live music hubs.
Access to the bar, lounge and chapel events are free for members, or from £10 for the public.
