We are delighted to announce the 2018 Mercury Prize shortlisted artist and the 2019 Independent Venue week ambassador – Novelist, will be with us on Saturday 2 February for one night only!
Novelist, is the a 21-year-old, English rapper, grime MC and producer from the south London borough of Lewisham. He was a founding member of The Square crew and was nominated for Best Grime Act at the 2014 MOBO Awards. As a younger teen, Novelist was elected deputy young mayor of Lewisham!
Skinner is an artist from Leeds, creating a range of electronic music with pop/r’n’b/hip-hop/soul influences topping them off with her powerful and potent voice. BBC Introducing presenter Jericho Keys describes her sound as ‘Sassy, soulful and sexy’. Her songs are regularly, broadcast on stations including BBC Radio 1, BBC 1XTRA BBC Radio 6, and more.
