Review of Hastings Reggae Festival 2024
. My first visit. Very well organised the security guys were brilliant, so helpful and professional, friendly. Food choice and quality was amazing, especially Pirates of the Caribbean. I didn't think the Waltzer was necessary, could definitely do without it. Drinks were very expensive, bar staff were really efficient and friendly. I had a blast, will be back next year.

The vibe was brilliant. The only criticism myself and family had was get rid of waltzer ride as it was too noisy and interfered with hearing the music between acts....it was also smelly (diesel). Totally not needed. Looking forward to next year's reggae festival already though. 😎?'?☀️

I got there at 2100 hours because l was in work.Ti enjoy the one hour if great music,but l was denied entry because it was too late even though people were leaving in droves.All l wanted was just to be there,but alas the gatemen knows best.A wasted effort honestly!

Music not nearly as good as last year.. very weak on the reggae front and long gaps between artists.
Sets were also very short!!
The toilets were RANCID.
on a plus bars were well run and didn't have big queues..
Sadly won't rush back ..

Was in the so called VIP area where the atmosphere was dire. People with camping chairs and huge picnic blankets at front of stage. Couldn't believe it really. Between acts there was a 30 min or so wait. During that time there was no DJ or other to keep the crowd going. The show was running late and there was irritation growing in the crowd with chants of 'why are we waiting'. The sound quality was average and the acts seemed like they were rushing...going through the motions. The promotor needs to take a good look at this festival offer as there is a lot of competition and the word will spread about this festival. I left at 8pm half way through Maxi Priest. I had had enough by then. If only I could get a refund! I certainly wouldn't recommend this festival and won't be going back.
