great venue bands mingled with the crowd allowed in for sound check and photo opportunities would recommend venue also Mansfield and Ma**eille put on a great show both bands well worth seeing

This was a brilliant, High energy, feel good gig that had everyone bouncing. Already booked to see them again on 27th Aug back at Adelphi. Love this as a venue, it’s small and unpretentious- and the drinks are reasonable too

David Rovics

Absolutely brilliant!

David Rovics at the Adelphi, Hull

Rovics is a rare thing, an unashamedly politically charged singer/songwriter. Lyrically direct for the most part he aims his guitar at corporations, governments, injustice and hypocrisy and lets fly. But what silenced the audience tonight were a couple of lovesongs - tender and full of soul and all the more touching in contrast to the politics. I hadn't seen or heard Rovics before tonight, but if you get the chance, catch him around the UK. He has a direct line to the 21st century's conscience and we need that more than ever.
