An enormous variety of clients record at Africa Studios: signed and unsigned bands and singer songwriters, club bands, duos and self contained acts. Genres so far committed to CD run the gauntlet from Pop through Folk and Metal to R&B, Hip Hop and Grime, with more than a casual nod to Old School Rock, Dance and Indie.

Post production services include audio mastering and audio restoration. State of the art software processing is used to provide the very best results achievable in both these areas. Mastered tracks leave the studio with a tight and polished feel. Audio restoration projects generally include the transfer of tape or vinyl LPs and singles - records - to CD, with a substantial cleanup process in place between the two to remove crackles, pops, hiss and other unwanted noise artefacts. The same combination of art and technology applies to dictaphone, video handcam and phone recordings.

The company is owned and managed by David Elf, who has been working full time in the professional music industry since 1988. Working as a professional musician, sound engineer and artistic event manager for over 20 years has uniquely positioned him for the job.

Through Africa Studios, David manages stages for Filey Folk Festival, Cottingham Springboard Festival, Tribfest and Trinity Festivals. Local event clients include the Hull World Trade Centre, Hull FC at KC Stadium, The Deep, Hull Bid, Pozition, Piper Club and many others.
