Not what it was.. we came here last year and experienced the full courtyard OPEN with c**ktails, performers, fire, bubbles, smoke etc. This year the tiny courtyard was open, the music was really quiet/boring, the atmoshphere was rubbish, full of underage kids... drink selection was awful. Such a shame, we travelled 2 hours and booked a hotel for nothing. Won't return unfortunately!

Great music, but it felt like a school disco, dozens of kids who told us they were only 15, their behaviour spoilt things unfortunately

Review of Rum & Reggae Festival

We were expecting good reggae music and a celebration of reggae and the happy vibes this brings.

The actuality of this event was horrifying and a shock. There was inappropriate cultural appropriation throughout and people who had used face paints to change their skin tone.
When I alerted the bar staff and security to this and highlighted this was considered a hate crime and racist they said I should expect this at a reggae event and it was fancy dress.
Fancy dress is fine and a fun choice but not at the expense of humiliation and hate of others.

Very saddened and disappointed that this was supported, allowed and event accepted.

We left after 10mins - the “fancy dress” was disgraceful, seeing people in black face and none of the staff cared. The venue was filthy.

Was supposed to be rum and reggae but may as well have been in a night club was dance/trance music. Also advertised 60 different rums this wasn't the case. No live music though we didn't stay. I have been to a couple of rum and reggae festivals and this wasn't one
