Review of Gene Genie & the Lemon Squeezers
We couldn't attend due to having covid, we didn't have the protection policy as we thought covid was over. Absolutely gutted we couldn't make the show, tried to sell the tickets onto friends and family but they were busy

Review of The Burlesque Company @ 45Live
When it comes to burlesque I've been to shows from Anna Fir Laxis's wet spot in Leeds to the creame tease in Oxfordshire and all points in between.
This was the first visit to this venue and company first impressions were very positive very easy parking close to the venue, very reasonable prices for drinks pre show, great pre show music, and friendly staff.
Not recommending the show/venue is entirely due to the atrocious lighting of the main stage. There were 5 lights front of stage directed towards the acts but angled so as to only illuminate the very front of the stage, 8 lights along the back of the stage angled towards the audience, and a single large spotlight at the rear (stage left) that was turned on after the first two performances and angled directly at the front row.
Sitting front row I really enjoyed the first two performances and was whooping and cheering, after the large spotlight being turned on meant that from the end of the second performance to the interval I could see literally nothing.
After the interval I changed seats but discovered that the combination of the lighting meant that whenever the performers were on the back half of the stage they were in permanent shadow, and whenever they were in the front half of they stage they were washed out by the spotlight.
Only when standing directly in front of the spot or standing on the front 1ft of the stage did the performers become truly visible, this however was spoiled by turning on flashing and strobing lights at the back of the stage which distracted from the person actually performing.
The venue's event list is almost entirely bands and the lighting rig reflects this as it is designed I think to provide visual accompaniment to an audio experience but seems illsuited to accompanying a visual based performance.
I would recommend the venue if hosting a band.
Based on the first two performances and what I could see of the others I would recommend the burlesque company if at a different venue.
I would not recommend the combination of the two.

Review of The Burlesque Company @ 45Live
The acts were amazing.
The compere funny and engaging.
The music, too loud at times, but enjoyable.
Some of the clientele could have been much much more respectful by not talking loudly throughout the performances, but this doesn't impact on the ladies and gentlemen involved in the show.
Two thumbs up! ??
