Jessie Reid’s folk-influenced, percussive fingerstyle guitar playing has drawn comparisons with the likes of Ben Howard, Newton Faulkner, Lucy Rose, and Nick Mulvey. Her latest singles have amassed over six million streams, with support from Spotify editorial curators. Over the past year, she has been featured by BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson and Chris Hawkins. Recently, Jessie received the 2024 ‘Artist of the Year’ award from BBC Introducing in Shropshire and was named ‘Artist to Watch in 2023’ by Atwood Magazine. She played Glastonbury in 2024 and was long-listed for the Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition in 2019. Jessie has also traveled as far as New York and Brazil in the promotion of her debut singles.
Jessie has provided main tour support for Steph Strings, Louden Wainwright III and Dan Owen on their UK tours and has enjoyed supporting artists such as Seafret, Brooke Bentham, Bryde, and Ciaran Lavery over the past few years. With her unique percussive style of ‘laptap’ guitar playing, Jessie has become a firm Sofar Sounds favorite, performing over 50 Sofar shows across three continents. She has had an exciting summer playing at UK festivals, including Black Deer Festival, Moseley Folk Festival, and Green Gathering. Jessie has previously appeared at 110 Above Festival, Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Camper Calling, and Timber Festival.
Jessie is currently working on her next EP, set for release in early 2025. She plans to embark on her first headline UK tour in spring 2025 to coincide with the EP release.
