The Silver Building

The 50,000 sq ft Silver Building, due to open this autumn, will become home to creative businesses and start-ups, with a range of different sized workshops available for everyone from set designers to photographers and traditional artists. In addition to the 34 studios, the four-storey building - situated on Dock Road, close to West Silvertown DLR station - will also feature communal and hospitality areas, plus two rooms that can be used for exhibitions and events. It has been designed by Nick Hartwright, a social entrepreneur who delivers mixed-use affordable space for small businesses across London, in partnership with the Mayor of London’s Office and Silvertown Homes Ltd. Mr Hartwright said: “The Silver Building is an incredibly exciting project and a perfect example of how modern regeneration should be carried out.
