Review of Highest Point presents Big Family Day Out 2024
Went last year and it was fantastic, something for teens and young ones. Went this year expecting similar, and it was like they'd done the bare minimum. Last year there were many tribute acts, this year there was nothing worth watching on the stage apart from MC Grammar, but you can't really sing along or dance to him. No map to tell you where anything was, so walking around trying to find things to do. Less food stalls, only found 1 market/crafty type stall.
Took my young ones to the butterfly house just so we had done something to warrant the £40 entry fee. Had a nice day, but that wasn't because of the festival. Kids spent most the time in the playground, which we could have done next weekend for free! Kids got bored and wanted to leave early so we could find something good to do... Won't bother again unfortunately.

Great family event, loved MC Grammer, Hartbeeps, Northern Heights, the brass band, bubbles, the owls....
Shame not to have the big parade this year, and missed the entertainers walking around the field (magicians, stilts etc)

Review of Highest Point Festival 2024
Acts were nowhere near as good as previous years. There were also less music tents/arenas. Needed more toilets.
Saturday acts were good, but room for improvement, especially when compared to previous.

Review of Highest Point presents Big Family Day Out 2024
MC Grammar was fantastic and well worth paying the price to see. The rest was pretty disappointing and unknown so not a lot for the kids and parents to sing along to and dance to.
The last artist (George) it was so loud with the base that it made my ears hurt and my little one started crying so we had to leave at that point.
Would have been better to have the tribute bands that were on in the evening to have come in and done some during the day instead!

Review of Highest Point presents Big Family Day Out 2024
Getting better each year, attendees now knowing the set up (activity areas, places to pitch blankets for picnics, food and drink stalls).
Felt cleaner this year, last year the park grounds smelt of stale beer.
Lots of people park on Quernmore Rd as Wyresdale Rd is closed off, would be useful if you could permanently exit at Quernmore Rd side of the park, although this could prove logistically challenging.
Single most important observation from the past 3 years of BIG FAMILY DAY is that on every occasion you have failed to open the gates on time (significant delay) which isnât really acceptable when you have young children queuing, if the start time isnât realistic then start the day a little later (manage expectations)
Thank you

Review of Highest Point presents Big Family Day Out 2024
To expensive, a set list for the different stages would have made a big difference along with a site map detailing what was going on where. More music from recognised artists would have been good instead of just radio presenters. There were also significantly less activities for children this year. Not as good as last year.

Review of Highest Point presents Big Family Day Out 2024
As a family of 4 we loved the festival and there was a lot to do for everyone.
The variety of food was spot on with plenty of shade to go to when it hit too hot.
MC Grammar was by far the best act we saw, something for the kids and adults.

Review of Highest Point presents Big Family Day Out 2024
Been every year and there seems less this year in terms of acts, areas and moving entertainment. Still good but not quite the same as in the earlier years.
