Review of Beaver Works
I have been to beaverworks many times over the years and in recent times its lost its way. They sell wayy too many tickets for events so u end up like sardines in a can, way too many people for the venue capacity, despite what it says the venue can hold (18,350?!?!? Are u kidding?! Venue isn't big and consists of rooms akin to a rabbit warren with limited fire escapes (if any in some rooms?! Am pretty sure i have seen some rooms with no fire escapes but could be wrong) ) toilets are absolutely gross and always a huge queue. I always feel claustrophobic and worry about what would happen in the event of a fire or if the crowd were to panic, there is absolutely nowhere for u to go and not to mention being surrounded by people on drugs, its not gonna end well if somet were to happen, who the hell is in charge of that many people?! People would get seriously hurt and probably some deaths too if things dont change soon. It is an accident waiting to happen imo. In terms of enjoyment there's absolutely no room to dance in the main rooms 90% of the time I've been in the last 5 years, people constantly using Snapchat and posting to Instagram etc literally all night instead of dancing so idk why those people are even there in the first place. I used to go there and meet loads of cool people, had a lot of fun dancing and generally a great crowd, now it just sucks tbh, full of dead eyed 18 year old on too many drugs and would say its more like a glorified club instead of a rave venue. That and the anxiety I feel about the amount of people that go just makes me not want to go anymore, it just isn't safe. I know multiple people who have been mugged there and in the immediate area around the venue, it is dodgy. There are much better rave venues around Leeds, beaverworks has gone hugely downhill and all about making money instead of making sure the venue is safe and can cater for the crowds it claims to be able to manage 🙃 music isnt as good either so maybe if u enjoy staring at ur phone all night, having drinks spilled on u, toilet doors without locks (or a door at all) and kids on too many drugs then it will be ur sorta place lol
