INCOMING TO HYDE PARK BOOK CLUB
We are thrilled to announce that Part Time Model are headlining HPBC on 11th November. Not only is this your first opportunity to hear Part-Time Model’s unique sound, but a great opportunity to watch two brilliant local acts in Rushbonds and Cherry Seraph.
PART-TIME MODEL is the brainchild of five of Leeds' most exciting multi-talented musicians: Lucy Tessier, Benjamin Smith, Rafael Mendes-Browne, Charlie Isaac, and Charlie Wilberforce. Hailing from diverse regions across the UK, the band was formed in the heart of West Yorkshire in the spring of 2022. Armed with an evocative lyrical flare, and fusion of eclectic instrumental styles, PART-TIME MODEL offers a stark soundtrack accompanying the chaotic world of today.
Exploring a variety of themes such as the relentlessness of adult life and mental health, their visceral sound and honest lyricism are without bounds and impossible to tie down to a single genre. Whilst lead vocalist, Lucy Tessier, takes her lyrical influence from the likes of Fiona Apple, Dry Cleaning, and English Teacher, the sonic prowess of Talking Heads, Crumb, and Radiohead are central to the band’s instrumentals. Having waited almost two years to launch their highly anticipated project, the quintet are finally ready to invite eager listeners into the world of PART-TIME MODEL.
Rushbonds are a Leeds-based female fronted indie, experimental soul band with post-punk influence. After meeting in their first year of university, the band, consisting of Robyn McLeod (Vocals), Isaac Llewellyn (Guitar) James Bromley (Bass) and Teruki Chan (Drums), started to incorporate their vast styles and influences into one cohesive sound. Combining influences from Hiatus Kaiyote, Plastic Mermaids and Viagra Boys, their sound is one that is hard to pinpoint and define.
Rushbonds are making waves around the Leeds circuit, bringing an eccentric stage performance to venues like Belgrave Music Hall, Oporto, Headrow House, Hyde Park Book Club and Project House, creating an organic buzz for themselves. Rapid growth has taken them to new heights, supporting Trudy and the Romance in Leeds as part of the ‘Smashed Up My Fender’ EP Tour.
Cherry Seraph is the glimmering solo alt-pop electronic project of queer producer, artist and musician Sophie Russell. Supported by BBC Introducing, she has been named “The Next Big Thing” by Crash Records and recently released a single backed by Youth Music’s ‘Next Gen’ fund. In 2023, Russell debuted live in Paris and has since performed across England (including The Bodega, Sage 2) and at multiple festivals using hardware synths and Ableton Push. “With her evolving sound and production approaches, she emerges as a standout talent in the northern music scene” - Under The Radar.
